I am dedicated to Ngāti Whātua, I look forward to the growth of us as a people, the mana of hapū, culture and identity, economic success, and the people's wellbeing. What energises me is my genealogy, my connections to you all, and the many lessons from our mātua, tupuna over the many years.
Noho ora mai
Te Kurataiaho Kapea
Tēnā tātou, ko Mihi Moeka’a tōku ingoa. He uri nō Te Taoū. Raised on my marae at Reweti, it has been a privilege to grow up learning from the many kuia and kaumātua who are no longer with us, and to now be part of the ongoing growth of our marae.
As a trustee of Reweti Marae and the marae representative on Ngā Maunga Whakahii o Kaipara, I bring a balance of strategic thinking and practical experience to governance. My background in policing has strengthened my ability to navigate complex environments, approach challenges with clarity, and work toward constructive, solutions-focused outcomes.
My approach centres on listening, understanding diverse viewpoints, and ensuring they are explored and represented at the decision-making table. I am committed to strengthening connections between whānau and hapū, while supporting kaupapa that build unity and long-term outcomes for our people.

I am the proud and honoured representative of Puatahi Marae. My why is my children, mokopuna, and future generations. Whenua, moana, and the health and wellbeing of our people are at the centre of my purpose, while my tūpuna remain the driving force behind everything I do. I carry the values, teachings, resilience, and sacrifices of those who came before me, and I strive to uphold their legacy through service to whānau, hapū, and our Iwi. My aspiration is to create pathways that empower our people, strengthen cultural identity, and ensure our future generations thrive in all aspects of life.
