Te Tari Taiao is responsible for the following activities;

MANAGEMENT PLANS

  • Developing and executing plans related to the management of natural resources and sites under the protection of Ngā Maunga Whakahii o Kaipara
  • Influencing and working with agencies and groups to ensure te protection of natural resources and sites within the rohe of Ngāti Whātua o Kaipara

CULTURAL IMPACT ASSESSMENTS

  • Participating in Council Resource Consent processes to provide position of Ngāti Whātua o Kaipara  on notifiable consent applications

ENVIRONMENTAL MAPPING & PROJECTS

  • Mapping the whakapapa and korero related to wahi tapu and sites of importance within the rohe of Ngāti Whātua o Kaipara
  • Participating and leading environmental projects that lead to the revitalisation and protection of our whenua
