Whiti Ora o Kaipara is our registered charitable trust.  Distributions will be made from time to time in accordance with the Charities Act. The types of distributions are usually (but not limited to); Grants, Scholarships, Health and Wellbeing benefits, free or discounted training / wananga opportunities, educational resources and free events.  We do our best to ensure that all members can access these benefits, however some can only be made available to NZ residents.

2018 - 2019 Whānau Programmes / Training Support Package (Individual)

We are pleased to be able to offer support to our whanau through our Programmes and Training Support Package. Depending on the activity and investment required, you may be asked to participate in career planning activities as part of your application. This package  closed 21 December 2018 but we are still accepting expressions of interest.

2018 - 2019 Whānau Programmes & Training Support (Group)

We are pleased to be able to offer support and funding to our whanau who are interested in delivering their own programmes and training that will benefit a group of our members in working towards or achieving the group aspirations as well as the rautakitanga of Ngā Maunga Whakahii o Kaipara. Some examples are;

Marae Based Holiday Programmes, NCEA Camps / Programmes, Housing / Employment / Education / Health related wananga

2018 - 2019 Kainga Reo

A key objective of our rautaki is for reo Māori to spoken within our homes – not just in classrooms and on the marae. Funding is offered to contribute to or subsidise the costs of setting up and running home or community based te reo initiative ideas you have (e.g coffee groups, study and practice groups, video conference groups).

2018 - 2019 Specsavers Offer (Free exam and spectacles*if required)

This benefit allows you to access an eye exam and spectacles with no upfront cost.  You cannot claim for reimbursement with this link - you will need to apply for a Health and Wellbing grant.

This offer is available now until 28 February 2019 - or until funds are exhausted (which ever occurs first)

Please complete the form using the link below. The Purchase Order Number is your member (CIVI) number on your Kaipara Card or contact the office to get your number. An individual form needs to be completed for each member of your family that wants to access the benefit.

2018 - 2019 Lumino Dental Offer 

We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Lumino The Dentists to give our members access to best practice dental care in the form of the Lumino Dental Plan.

Initially Lumino The Dentists Henderson and Lumino New Lynn are providing treatment for members of Ngāti Whatua o Kaipara. Every member with an email address has been sent an email with a link to the offer. If you do not have an email address you will need to contact the office to arrange registration.

2018 - 2019 Marae Development Fund

Funding is offered to contribute to or subsidise the costs of running planned initiatives, hui, and wananga. This is a list of the preferential initiatives however all application will be assessed but applicants should carefully consider the objectives of Ngā Maunga Whakahii o Kaipara Development Trust before doing so.




Governance, leadership & succession

Leadership Development e.g. marae planning hui, professional governance training, civics/election wananga, maori land court / dia workshops


Tikanga, reo & marae practices/roles

Reconnecting, educating, whanau ora

whanau reunion events and whakapapa wananga


Environmental practices and participation

wananga and hui related to kaitiaki development or environmental protection of sites of significance to our marae

2018 - 2019 Marae Development (Infrastructure and Master Planning) Fund

Funding is offered to support completion and maintenance activities of our marae complexes. These activities can only be accessed via Marae Trusts and Committees with mandated authority to undertake these types of actions on the marae reservation. Speak to your Marae Trust if you have patai about the development and maintenance of your marae facilities.



Ngā Maunga Whakahii o Kaipara Development Trust and Whiti Ora o Kaipara Charitable Trust do not provide social services. The Board has chosen to focus on development activities and employ kaimahi who have expertise in the following services;

Provision of Information We can meet with individuals or groups to guide you thorough your understanding of our organisation, the Claims Settlement Act, Deeds of Trust, membership etc.
Pānui We distribute regular communications to our members
Cultural                         Our deed of trust refers to reconnection of whānau and promotion of cultural wellbeing. We are here to assist you within the cultural development space
Navigation / Advocacy support services              Connecting you and supporting you with access to services and information that will help you to resolve issues affecting your wellbeing and achievement of aspirations           
Project and Development Planning Supporting you through planning and implementation activities to progress specific goals and aspirations                                                                                                                           
Coaching                                                                  Achieving exactly what you want - unsure of what next? We are here to listen and build a framework with you so you can make important decisions regarding things like business development, careers, education, financial health and housing
Wananga and Events progressing our Rautaki 2017 - 2050 Through spending time with our members and feedback from whānau our Research and Projects Facilitator and development team can implement and deliver wananga that work towards achieving the objectives of our rautaki.
